SP8DE as a project will celebrate soon one-year anniversary! It’s crazy to think about it, but the journey only started on December 27, 2017. Now it’s time to come back to the roots, so – why SP8DE?

As the project idea was born, it became clear that there is a need for the name – very short, clear, special, and of course, games related. The list of possible names was quite long, and then this stylish item defined the future of the company – the gift that our CVO received:

This candle indeed sparked the imagination, and it immediately became very clear that nothing can be cooler than spades! Because they are both stable and dynamic, and spades look and sound like everything the founding team wanted to convey.

Adding 8 to it was quite a natural choice – 8 is the symbol of ultimate luck in Asian cultures, in Chinese it sounds like “making a fortune”, it’s respected because it stands for wealth and luck. And 8 is another way to think of ∞ – infinity.

That’s how the name was created, a distinct name meeting the ultimate goal – to create a better, more fair gaming world.
